Available on iOS
Room Mode allows you to quickly capture detailed 3D models of entire rooms or spaces using your device’s LiDAR sensor (on supported devices). This mode is ideal for capturing interiors and for generating floorplans.
Check Device Compatibility
Room Mode is only available for devices that have LiDAR sensors. Below are the current available devices that can use room mode.
LiDAR Devices: iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max (or later), and iPad Pro (2020 or later)
Create a Room Mode Capture
1. Select Room Mode: On the home screen, tap the + button to start a new capture. Choose Room Mode from the list of capture options.
2. Start the Room Capture: Position yourself at one end of the room and aim your device towards the bottom corner of a wall.
3. Record the session: Tap the record button and move your phone along the wall until a white line indicates that the first wall is being generated.
4. Navigate around the Room: Walk around the perimeter of the space, capturing walls, floors, and ceilings as you go. For larger spaces, ensure that you capture all angles by making multiple passes. The LiDAR sensor will map the room in real time, creating a 3D model of the space.
5. Complete the Scan: Once the entire space is captured, tap the record button to end the scan. A 3D-generated room will be created.
How to Toggle Ceiling and Furniture
After capturing your room, you can further modify it by enabling the options to reprocess your room to LiDAR, as well as toggling on the ceiling and furniture settings.
1. Hide or Show your room options: On the navbar, tap on the Process button to access the furniture and ceiling toggles.
2. View Available Toggle Options: Tap on the eye to toggle Ceiling and Furniture options on/off.
- Ceiling: When scanning a room, the ceiling is displayed as a single plane (invisible until export), allowing for the measurement from floor to ceiling. This option allows you to toggle this plane on/off.
- Furniture: This option allows you to toggle furniture visibility on or off. If it is disabled, your exported file will exclude furniture.
