The Perspective and Orthographic tool allows you to switch between two different viewing modes for your 3D captures, offering flexibility depending on what you want to focus on. Perspective View provides a realistic sense of depth and distance, while Orthographic View eliminates perspective distortion for precise measurements.
What Are Perspective and Orthographic Views?
- Perspective View: Objects appear smaller as they get further away, simulating how the human eye naturally perceives the world. This view gives a realistic, immersive sense of depth within your scan.
- Orthographic View: Objects are displayed without perspective distortion, meaning they appear the same size regardless of their distance from the viewer. This view is ideal for precise measurements and spatial comparisons.
How to Use the Perspective and Orthographic Tool
1. Open Your Capture: Select the 3D model or capture you want to view.
2. Access the Viewing Options: Tap on the Perspective/Orthographic toggle to switch between the two modes.
-
Perspective View: By default, captures open in perspective view. Use this for a more immersive, real-world sense of your capture.
-
Orthographic View: Toggle to orthographic view to eliminate perspective distortion and focus on precise spatial relationships and measurements.
