The 3D Generator lets you turn your images into 3D models, converting flat photos into objects you can interact with and share. This tool examines an image to create a 3D version, which is helpful to add directly into a scene or export as a 3D model for further editing.
- You can only use one image to generate a 3D model.
- Only JPEG and PNG image formats are supported.
What are the Image Requirements
To create a good model, the image should consist of the following:
- The image should either be a PNG or JPEG
- Only one object should be present in the image, as multiple objects may lead to distortion or a failed capture.
- To capture as many angles as possible, we suggest using an image where the object is displayed at an isometric angle.
- The generator performs optimally when the object's background is white or solid.
How to Create a 3D Model
1. Log In to Polycam: Open Polycam Web and log in to your account.
2. Access the Create Tool: On the left-hand side of the page, click the Create button and select the Generate a 3D Model option.
3. Upload an Image: Drag and drop an image in the create window.
5. Begin Processing: This will upload the image and begin processing to create the model.
