Guided Mode in Polycam lets you visualize your Object Mode capture as you scan. This helps you capture your subject correctly before processing the final model.
How to Access Guided Mode
1. Open the Capture Screen: Tap the plus (+) icon to start a new capture.
2. Select Object Mode: Choose Object Mode as your capture type.
3. Enable Guided Mode:

Set your Shutter Type to Auto Mode.

On the right-hand side, switch from Free Mode to Guided Mode.

How to Scan in Guided Mode
Move slowly around your object to capture it properly. Points will appear in real-time, forming a point cloud of your object. You can rotate the point cloud during the scan to check your progress.
Completing Your Capture
1. Once you have scanned the entire object, tap Done to proceed.
2. On the Capture Process Screen, choose between processing as a Photogrammetry Capture or a Gaussian Splat.
3. Tap Advanced Settings to review and delete individual images if needed.
4. Tap Upload & Process to generate your 3D model.
Once processed, your completed capture will be available for viewing and editing in Polycam.
