As a free user of Polycam, you start with a limited number of photo captures. However, there are several ways to earn more captures by engaging with the Polycam community and platform. This guide explains the different activities that can boost your available captures.

Saving Captures on Explore (10 captures)

The Explore page showcases amazing creations from the Polycam community. By saving captures that inspire you:

  1. Navigate to the Explore tab in the Polycam app
  2. Browse through featured captures from other users
  3. When you find captures you like, tap the Save icon (bookmark symbol)
  4. After saving 5 different captures, you'll automatically receive 10 additional photo captures

Publishing Your Own Capture (20 captures)

Sharing your work with the community rewards you with additional captures:

  1. Create a 3D scan using Polycam
  2. After processing, tap the Share button
  3. Select Publish to Explore
  4. Add a title, description, and relevant tags
  5. Tap Publish
  6. You'll receive 20 additional captures for each published model

Rating Polycam on the App Store (50 captures)

Your feedback helps us improve, and we reward you for it:

  1. Visit Polycam in your device's app store
  2. Scroll down to the Ratings & Reviews section
  3. Tap to leave a rating and an optional written review
  4. You'll receive 50 additional captures as a thank-you

Publishing a  Capture (75 captures)

  1. Publish a high-quality capture following the steps above
  2. Share your published work on social media to gain visibility
  3. When your capture reaches 5 saves from other users, you'll automatically receive 75 additional captures
  4. You can track saves on your published models in your profile

Becoming a Community Creator (150 captures)

  1. Focus on creating and publishing 5 high-quality captures
  2. Work toward each capture earning at least 5 saves from other users
  3. When you achieve 5 captures with 5+ saves each, you'll automatically receive 150 additional captures
  4. This achievement also earns you community recognition

To increase your chances of receiving saves:

  • Use descriptive titles and relevant tags
  • Capture interesting or useful subjects
  • Ensure good lighting and capture technique
