Transferring Captures Between Workspaces
How Capture Transfer Works
When you transfer a capture, the capture is moved to the destination workspace, and the original workspace no longer has access to it.
Transfer Requirements
You can transfer captures in and out of workspaces under these conditions:
- From Personal to Organization: Transfer from your personal workspace to any workspace you are a member of
- Out of Organization: You can only transfer out of a workspace if you originally created that capture
Transfer Ownership Tip: Remember that only the original
creator of a capture can transfer it out of an organizational workspace.
This ensures proper ownership and prevents unauthorized movement of team
assets.
1Accessing Transfer Options
- Navigate to the capture you want to transfer
- Access the capture's Capture Detail view
2Initiating the Transfer
- Within the Capture Detail view, click the transfer button
- Select the destination workspace from available options
- Confirm the transfer action, you will see a confirmation window if the transfer was successfull
Transfer Warning: Once a capture is transferred, it
will no longer be accessible from the original workspace unless you transfer
it back. Make sure you're
transferring to the correct destination workspace before confirming.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Missing Expected Workspaces
If you can't see workspaces you expect to have access to:
- Verify your account type is Business or Enterprise
- Check with your Polycam owner that you have been properly added to the organization
- Confirm the workspace is active and hasn't been removed
Missing Captures After Switching
If captures aren't appearing in a workspace:
- Confirm you're in the correct workspace by checking the workspace tab
- Verify that captures were created within that specific workspace
- Check with your team if captures may have been transferred to a different workspace
- Remember that captures are only visible within their current workspace
- Check that your captures have finished syncing and processing
