Our Community Guidelines are structured based on the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Santa Clara Principles. We recommend reading them for more insight into our internal decision-making framework.

We created Polycam to allow users to scan the world around them in 3D and to share their content with others. We strive to be a thoughtful community where everyone can thrive and enjoy our software. We understand that people have creative ideas and concepts that they wish to bring to light with Polycam. Therefore, NSFW (Not Safe for Work) content (excluding that which is noted to be unacceptable under any circumstances) is only allowed to be captured if it remains private.

Our community guidelines illustrate what is and what is not allowed to be captured with/or shared on the Polycam app. We want to be clear about the expectations of our users and reserve the right to take action when deemed necessary.

Please read and regularly review our guidelines for updates. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

We consider threats of violence and threats to hurt others unacceptable.

Do not post any information/content that you do not have the right to, including information/content from third parties unless you have explicit permission to use said information/content.

We do not allow any reference or representation of slurs or hate speech of any kind, including degrading comments involving race, sexual orientation, religious/political beliefs, or age.

Do not post content that glorifies self-harm and do not encourage others to harm themselves in any way.

Do not post content that depicts violence, blood, gore, dismembered body parts or any form of bodily harm.

You may not post content that belongs to others without their permission. If known, please always credit artists when scanning artwork. Please only post content that is legal and do not infringe on any copyright or trademark regulations. You may not post content that violates governmental law or regulation.

Do not post content pretending to be someone else. In essence, using someone else’s name/organization name to impersonate them.

Any content depicting minors in a pornographic, sexually suggestive, or violent manner (including illustrated or digitally altered pornography that depicts minors) is FORBIDDEN even if the capture remains private. We report illegal content to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

This may also result in your account being suspended and/or removed at Polycam’s discretion and can be done without warning.

You may not share sexually explicit content of other people without their consent, or share non-consensual intimate imagery (also known as revenge porn) in an attempt to shame or degrade someone.

If you do wish to post adult-oriented content or content that is Not Safe For Work (NSFW), please respect those in our community that do not wish to see it and keep NSFW captures private (do not make public).

If you post NSFW content publicly we may ask you to remove it, or we may remove it without warning. If you abuse our NSFW rules, your account may be suspended or you may lose the ability to make your captures public without warning.

Polycam’s community guidelines explicitly forbid posting content depicting drugs, drug use, nudity, intercourse, sexual acts, sex toys, masturbation and/or bodily fluids.

This may result in your account being suspended and/or removed at Polycam’s discretion and can be done without warning.

If you do not follow our community guidelines we may contact you and ask you to act in accordance.

If you continue to disobey the guidelines, your account may be suspended or removed and your username forfeited without warning. We reserve the right to enforce or not to enforce these guidelines in whatever way we see fit, at our sole discretion.

Please note that Polycam’s community guidelines and supporting policies do not create a duty or contractual obligation for us to act in any particular manner. We reserve the right to change these guidelines at any time.
