Polycam’s sharing feature allows you to share captures with anyone across the globe. Here’s how to use it.
How to access the sharing feature:
Users can access this feature on any of our platforms - iOS, Android, and web. They can navigate to it by tapping a “share” button anywhere in the app - while you’re looking at an individual capture or album, or while you’re reviewing actions that you can perform on that content
Who is this feature for?
Anybody using Polycam to collaborate with other people - especially professionals. A good use case is a homeowner capturing/scanning their house and sending it to a contractor or engineering pro.
What are some real-world examples of how a user would use this feature?
- A team of architects/contractors/engineers is working on a space together. One of them captures the entire space using Polycam and then shares those captures to the rest of the team. They can go in and make use of the captures as if they were their own - exporting, measuring, and editing to their needs.
- A group of people is actively capturing scans together in the same location. They can create a shared album and each input captures to that album. This would work for a group of people gathering assets for film production or another type of project.
