How to Name Your Captures
You can add a title and description to any of your Polycam captures to make them easier to identify and manage in your library. In this article you will learn how to name and describe your captures on Web, iOS, and Android.

How to Name Your Capture
1Open Your Capture Details
In your capture library, click or tap the ... icon next to the capture you want to name to open the options menu.
2Enter Edit Mode
Select the pencil icon to enter edit mode. The Capture Details panel will open, showing a preview of your capture along with the Title and Description fields.
3Enter a Title
Click or tap the Title field and type the name you want to give your capture. Choose something descriptive that will help you identify the capture at a glance, such as "Roof Inspection - June 2025" or "Living Room Scan."
4Add a Description (Optional)
Click or tap the Description field to add more context about the capture. You can enter up to 500 characters. This is a good place to include details like the location, date, project name, or any notes relevant to the scan.
5Save Your Changes
Once you've entered your title and description, click or tap to apply your changes. Your capture will now display the updated name in your library.
