Exporting your 3D captures from Polycam lets you use your models in other software, share them with others, or save them for future reference. This guide covers how to export on both the Polycam web platform and the mobile app.

Export Settings
Before downloading, you can configure the following settings to ensure your file works correctly in your target software.
Choose between Imperial and Metric measurement systems.
Controls the number of points in a point cloud export. Higher density produces more detail but results in larger file sizes.
Sets the vertical axis orientation for point cloud exports.
Sets the vertical axis orientation for mesh exports.
Sets the vertical axis orientation for Gaussian Splat exports.
Determines the geometry used when exporting 360 captures as a mesh. Capsule is suited for indoor or room-scale captures, while Sphere works better for panoramic or outdoor environments.
How to Download Your Captures
Access your library: Open Polycam on web or in the app and navigate to your Library, where all your captures are stored.
Select a capture: Click or tap the capture you wish to download. This opens the 3D viewer where you can preview it and make any adjustments.
Open the download menu: Click the button in the top right corner on web, or tap the downward arrow icon (↓) on the app.
Choose your format: Select the format that best suits your needs. Options include OBJ, STL, GLTF, and more. Adjust any format-specific settings as needed.
Download the file: Click or tap . Depending on the file size, this may take a few moments. Once complete, your file will be saved to your device or computer.
