How to Export ESX Files from Polycam

Polycam supports exporting your captures as ESX files, a file format used in property insurance workflows. This guide covers how to export ESX files from Polycam on both web and mobile.

Note: ESX files are only supported on Windows. Each ESX export incurs a fee and cannot be refunded once initiated. Please confirm your capture is complete and ready before exporting.

How to Export an ESX File

Tip: Each ESX purchase is tied to the current version of your floorplan. Once purchased, you will be able to download that version of the file. However, if you make changes to your floorplan after purchasing, a new ESX file will need to be purchased for the updated version. We recommend finalizing all floorplan edits before purchasing your ESX file.

Access your library: Open Polycam on web or in the app and navigate to your Library, where all your captures are stored.

Select a capture: Click or tap the capture you wish to export. This opens the 3D viewer where you can preview it and make any final adjustments.

Open the download menu: Click the Download button in the top right corner on web, or tap the downward arrow icon (↓) on the app.

Choose ESX as your format: Select ESX from the list of available export formats.

Complete payment: A prompt will appear with a Pay to unlock ESX button. Click or tap it to be taken to the payment window, where you can complete your purchase.

Download your file: Once payment is complete, your ESX file will begin processing and will be available to download to your device or computer.
