You can update your default language in Polycam at any time by accessing your account settings. Changing the language will update the interface for the mobile app only.
Important: Changing the language will only affect your
personal account view. It won't impact shared captures or team member
settings.

Note: Language settings only affect the mobile app interface.
The Polycam website will remain in English regardless of your mobile
language preference.
How to Change Your Language Settings
1Accessing Language Settings
- Tap or click on your user profile icon (top right corner) to access the Account page
- On the Account page, scroll down to find the Account section
- Tap on the Language drop-down to view available language options
Tip: The language dropdown displays all 27 available
languages. Scroll through the list to find your preferred language.
2Selecting Your Preferred Language
- Select your preferred language from the list
- You will be prompted to restart the app
- Once reopened, the app will be set in your chosen language

What Changes When You Switch Languages
- Interface text: All menus, buttons, and app navigation will display in your selected language
- Your content stays the same: Capture names, descriptions, and user-created content remain in their original language
- Shared captures: Other users viewing your shared captures will see them in their own language settings
- Team collaboration: Each team member can use their preferred language without affecting others
What Remains in English
- The Polycam website (regardless of mobile app language)
- Email notifications and communications
- Export file names and metadata
- Documentation and help center articles (unless specifically translated)
Important: Changing your language setting is a personal
preference and will not affect your existing captures, shared projects,
or team member settings. Your content and collaboration will continue
to work exactly as before.
Troubleshooting
Language Not Changing After Restart
If the app doesn't switch to your selected language after restarting:
- Verify you fully closed and reopened the app (force quit if necessary)
- Check that you're using the latest version of Polycam from the App Store
