How to View Polycam Captures in AR

Polycam's AR mode allows you to visualize 3D captures directly within real-world environments, providing a practical and interactive way to assess scale, context, and spatial alignment. Whether you're presenting a design to a client or evaluating on-site conditions, AR mode offers a professional, immersive tool for showcasing and reviewing your models.

Supported Capture Types

AR Mode is available for most capture types, with some exceptions.

How to Use Polycam AR Mode

Getting started with AR mode is simple and provides an immersive way to view your captures in real-world environments.

1Open Your Capture

Select any supported capture from your library that you want to explore in AR mode.

2Locate the AR Icon

Look for the orbit icon on the top right-hand side of the capture editor.

3Activate AR Mode

Tap the AR icon to switch to AR mode. Move your iPhone around to initialize AR mode. The capture will appear in your physical space, allowing you to interact with it as if it were a part of your real environment.

AR Controls

Once in AR mode, you can manipulate and interact with your 3D capture using intuitive touch gestures.

Move the Object: To reposition the object in your AR space, drag your finger around the screen. This will enable you to position the object precisely where you want it.

Rotate the Object: To rotate the object, use two fingers on the screen and glide them in two separate directions.

Record a Video: To capture your AR experience, tap the white button. This will start recording a video of your object in the AR space, allowing you to document and share your interactive session.
