Adding comments to your 3D captures in Polycam allows you to collaborate, make notes, and share insights with others viewing the capture. Below are instructions for adding and modifying comments on both Polycam mobile and web platforms.
How to Create a Comment on Mobile
1. Log In and Access the Capture: Open the Polycam app and log into your account. Navigate to the capture you want to comment on.
2. Access the Comments Tool: In the navbar, tap on Comments. Here, you’ll be able to view any comments already made for this capture.
3. Create a Comment: Tap anywhere on the capture to open a pop-up window for adding a comment. Tap Save to apply the comment to your capture.
How to Create a Comment on Polycam Web
1. Log In and Access the Capture: Log in to the Polycam website and navigate to the capture you want to comment on.
2. Access the Comments Tool: In the navbar on the left-hand side, click on Comments. Here, you’ll be able to view any comments already made for this capture.
3. Create a Comment: Click anywhere on the capture to open a pop-up window for adding a comment. Type your comment and click Save to apply the comment to your capture.
How to Modify Your Comments
1. Navigate to the Comments Tool: Access the comments section within your capture.
- On mobile drag the comments section upward to view all comments made on the capture.
2. Options for Modifying Comments: the three dots next to a comment to modify.

- Share: Copies the link to the comment inside the capture. Comments can be shared with anyone who has a Polycam account.
- Resolve: Marks a comment as complete
- Disable replies: Prevents users from replying to captures
- Delete: Removes the comment from your capture.

How to Add Replies to a Comment
Users have additional capabilities for enhanced collaboration by adding replies. This threaded reply feature enables users to maintain organized discussions and streamline feedback within captures.
1. Reply to a Comment: Navigate to a comment within the capture and tap on it. At the bottom of the comment, click Add Reply. This will create a thread within the comment, allowing you to add a response.
2. Post Your Reply: Type your reply, and once you’re ready, click Add to post it to the thread.
