How to Delete Your Polycam Captures

You can delete captures from your Polycam account on iOS, Android, and Web. Deleted captures are permanently removed from all devices associated with your account and cannot be recovered, so make sure you no longer need a capture before proceeding.

Important: Deleting a capture is permanent and cannot be undone. The capture will be removed from all devices associated with your Polycam account, and any shared links or embeds associated with it will permanently stop working.

How to Delete a Capture on iOS and Android

1Open Your Capture Library

Launch the Polycam app on your device and navigate to your capture library to view all your saved captures.

2Open the Capture Options

Tap the ... icon next to the capture you want to delete to open the options menu.

3Choose How to Delete

You'll see two delete options in the options menu:

  • Delete: Removes the capture from your account. Depending on whether the capture has been synced to the cloud, you'll be given one of the following options:
    • Delete from device only: Clears the capture from your device to free up local storage, while keeping it available through the cloud. This is a good option if you're running low on device storage but want to keep your capture accessible. This option will only appear if the capture has already been synced to the cloud.
    • Delete permanently: Removes the capture from both your device and the cloud. This cannot be undone. If the capture has not been synced to the cloud, this will be the only option available.
  • Delete raw data: Removes the raw scan data associated with the capture while keeping the processed 3D model intact. This is useful for freeing up storage without losing your finished result. However, once raw data is deleted, you will no longer be able to reprocess the capture or use the Extend tool.
Note: If a capture has not been synced to the cloud before deletion, only the Delete permanently option will appear. Make sure to sync your captures first if you want the option to remove them from your device only.

How to Delete a Capture on Web

On Web, captures can only be permanently deleted. The Delete from device only and Delete raw data options are not available on Web.

1Open Your Capture Library

Go to poly.cam and sign in to your account. Navigate to your capture library to view all your saved captures.

2Open the Capture Options

Click the ... icon next to the capture you want to delete to open the options menu.

3Select Delete

Select Delete from the options menu. A confirmation dialog will appear asking you to confirm the deletion.

4Confirm Deletion

Click Confirm in the confirmation dialog to permanently delete the capture from your account. This will remove the capture from all your devices and cannot be undone.
