How to Upload Your 3D Models into Polycam

Uploading your 3D models to Polycam Web lets you view, manage, and edit your models all in one place.

Supported File Formats

Before uploading, make sure your file is in one of the supported formats listed below.

Supported formats
  • .glb
  • .gltf
  • .obj
  • .fbx
  • .usdz
  • .ply (Gaussian Splat only)

The file's polygon count cannot exceed 2,500,000 polygons. Files above this limit will not be accepted.

How to Upload Your 3D Model

1Open the Upload Menu

In your Polycam capture library, click the Create button on the left-hand side of the page and select Upload a 3D asset from the drop-down menu.

2Start the Upload

On the 3D Model Viewer page, click Upload model to Polycam to open the upload area.

3Select Your Files

Click or drag and drop your 3D model files into the designated upload area. Make sure your files are in a supported format and do not exceed the 2,500,000 polygon limit before uploading.

4Confirm and Upload

Once your files are selected, click Upload to add them to your library. When the upload is complete, your 3D models will be available to view and edit in Polycam.

Tip: If your model exceeds the polygon limit, you may need to decimate it in a tool such as Blender or your preferred 3D software before uploading.
